Snake Bathroom update
Remember my design plans for a bathroom remodel I shared recently? Well, the project is well underway and most of the big decisions have been made.
I am collaborating with some exceptionally high-quality makers on this project. Check out these gorgeous, solid brass fixtures from Dlight store. I was looking for a snake-esqe shaped sconce to play off the wallpaper I’m using from Hygge and West. This one is the ticket!
I also received this stunning faucet from Inside East! It is so heavy and well crafted. Seeing the look and feel of a solid brass, hand-crafted faucet makes me seriously reconsider sourcing faucets from bix box stores in the future.
Tying to get a pretty picture of this was hard because it was a challenge for my biceps just to hold it up LOL
I originally planned to use white penny tiles for the floor, but then I found the same tiles in a warm gray color that is almost identical to the wallpaper. BINGO!
Another perk of going grey with the floor tile, is it is a very close match in color to the shower tile I am designing around per the home-owners request. As Tim Gunn would say, this is a make it work moment! The beauty of matching up these tiles means the eye will no longer be drawn towards something that feels like it doesn’t quite belong there. The scale of the penny tiles is also going contrast nicely with the shower tile. One issue I have with the shower tile is the extra wide grout lines. I may go over it with the floor grout to soften the appearance of it.
See the pink floor? That’s a primer that was applied over the existing vinyl flooring. Fingers crossed this method works because it will save so much time!
Still on the to-do agenda:
rip out all of the old hardware and fixtures
Select fabric for shower curtain (receiving samples this week).
paint trim (decide on color)
refinish cabinet (finalize paint color)
install wallpaper
install floor tile
install new light fixtures
source accessories
install sink and faucet
Source ceiling light
