Halloween Decor That's Actually Cute - 2024

Alright, alright, alright {Matthew McConoughay voice}. We are approaching one of my favorite decorating seasons. Although I love to decorate for Fall, I have learned to restrain myself over the years due to the fact there is just so much CRAP out there. It can be an overwhelming task to meander down the Halloween aisle at your favorite store. You might find yourself scratching your head and wondering…do people actually buy this stuff? Well, if you are not into the glitter pumpkins, plastic gourds and text art about pumpkin lattes aren’t your thing either, this post is for you (and if they are, no judgment!)

I scoured the internet for Halloween decorations you can have delivered to your doorstep, that are tasteful and will actually last you more than just one season. I have included a variety of price points so there is something for every budget.

Let’s dive in…

Halloween Decorations you can buy online (that are actually cute)

cute halloween decor you can buy online

Our first stop is at Michaels and I have definitely noticed they have upped their game in the seasonal decor department, particularly the stores own, Ashland ® brand. Some of their online-only items have been some of my favorites so definitely don’t forget to check their site.

If you have a child who is a bit sensitive to scary decorations, like mine, keep it fun! Love this pom-pom wreath for the color-lover. Who says pink isn’t a Halloween-color?

Really, just love a pop of plaid any day. And love that this can take you right into your Thanksgiving table-scape. Just throw in some dried wheat and DONE.

EEP. These little ghosts with stripped leggings are so cute, I can’t stand it.

Heading over to Etsy, you will find some really cute and affordable ghost art printables. Pop them into a vintage frame, and they almost feel like something that would belong in the 1800s.

Also, while you are there, check out the oodles of vintage finds. Incorporating the old into your Halloween scenes is an easy way to get that spooky vibe on a dime.

Some vintage items to search for for Halloween:

  • Candelabras (just add black candlesticks)

  • Palmistry ceramics

  • Dark, moody oil paintings

  • Old murder mystery books

  • Encased insects (scorpions, beetles…oh my)

  • Generally anything weird can be creepy. Old busts or antique photos of people with no smiles on their face will do the trick LOL)

Alrighty, I’ll be honest, it gets more expensive from here. You get what you pay for, right? The following decorations are a higher quality, and some are even heirloom-worthy. Meaning, you are going to pull these out year after year and maybe even pass some of them on to your kid one day. Worth it if you ask me. Just make sure you plan ahead with some good packaging and storage bins for when it’s time to put them away, and these will last you several seasons.

Our next stop is at Crate and Barrel. If your house is painted a dark color, a white silhouette, like these white ceramic pumpkins can look so striking. And it definitely has a more modern feel, which I find kind of refreshing during this season.

Case in point…

Our next stop is at West Elm and they has some really cute things for the kiddos.

These wool trick or treat bags are great for holding candy, but I could also see them holding some Tim Burton-esque branches on a similar peg set-up like they are here. I can’t get enough of the candied corn in particular…

Now this is a holiday throw pillow I can get behind. Or rather, get in front of.

This trick or treat pillow is soooo cute. It feels like a piece of art I could just stare at.

And now we are moving on to two brands that I think are solidly dominating the seasonal decor market.

Next stop, Anthropologie!

These black vine witch hats feel a little rustic and earthy. Since they are made with vines, no two are alike. I can think of oodles of places to put them - on top of pumpkins, tables etc., but my favorite might be suspended in the air. This entry display looks amazing but they would also look great hanging from a tree.

Glass pumpkins can feel so elegant, and I love that these frosted mini pumpkins have a glow to them. The metallic stem and frosted surface also add a little something extra. Try putting one in your powder room for a cozy, warm vibe.

These iron bat stakes are a fun way to dress up a pumpkin. Also, try nestling them into the center of Autumn flower blooms.

Last stop, Pottery Barn. And easily my favorite place to shop online for any holiday.

These earthy, terra cotta pumpkins will fit right in to your porch plant-scape.

This ghost coir door mat actually has little lights in it that light up when the doormat is stepped on, making it a really fun way to greet trick or treaters.

Whether solo, or in a grouping, these Ghost Cloche lights are too cute to be scary. Each glass dome has a little cloth ghost that appears to be floating inside, with it’s own light.

The party is on with this ceramic, haunted house beverage tub. With or without drinks, it’s large size will make it an impressive focal point on your bar or food table.

And maybe my favorite…LIT GHOSTS! I think what I love about these light-up ghosts are that they are large enough to be seen from a distance. They are also great for those of us that don’t want to do a TON of porch decorating. A couple of these ghosts and a pumpkin, and you are golden.

Last year, I made the girls costumes by hand for the first time in my life, and now I kind of feel like I set a precedence. So, I’m off to figure this years costumes out. True story, I actually did place over a 500 zip ties onto a porcupine costume last year, only to find out that my then 7 year old wanted to change her costume idea the night before . Soooo yeah. I can’t believe I’m doing this again??! LOL

Until next time…
