What is E-design?

E-design is short for online interior design. It is a great option for the person who wants more of a DIY experience. With this service, I’m able to create designs for clients all over the world! Since clients participate in the hiring and management of contractors themselves, this option is also more affordable than full service. With e-design, no project is too small. I can simply answer some of your toughest design questions, or completely transform the look of your space with entirely new furnishings.

What makes my e-design services different from other “big-box” services online?

  • I don’t work with companies that pay me to use their products in my designs. This means I’m not limited with the furnishings I source for my clients. It also means you are not paying a premium mark-up for decor, and dealing with the hassle of countless invoices. My services include a one-time payment so you don’t have any surprise fees later on.

  • My e-Design process is just as personal as my in-person services, minus the physical proximity. Want to see and touch samples in person before you commit to them? Of course you do! I will happily have samples delivered to your door. I work closely with you every step of the way to ensure the design is just the way you like it. We will communicate throughout the process so you are informed on the status of your room design, and so that I can answer any questions that arise.

  • Using custom upholstery and one-of-a-kind accessories ensures my designs are always fresh. I also rework existing furnishings into updated designs based on your preferences and budgetary needs. Incorporating vintage into e-designs is not an option for many e-designers due to the limited availability and access to local sources. I source these items directly for my clients to ensure their spaces don’t feel like they were designed all at once, but rather, comfortably gathered over a lifetime.

E-design is for the person who:

  • Is available to communicate with me by appointment via FaceTime/Zoom, phone and email.

  • Wants to manage their own timeline. You can install the design immediately, or a year from now - it’s up to you!

  • Can provide accurate measurements and photos (my tutorial makes this painless!) or an up-to-date blueprint

  • Is comfortable hiring and managing contractors, movers, painters or any other third party necessary to install the design.

  • Does not require budget management. However, I will ask for a ballpark of your investment in order to best assess which retailers to source furnishings for your project. If you are unsure if your budget is realistic for the design you are hoping for, the best thing to do is ask!

How it works:

  1. You contact me to set up a free discovery call.

  2. I will then email you a new-client questionnaire. This allows me to get a sense of your style and understand the scope of your project. Most clients say this part is fun! You will also share any inspiration photos you have gathered from magazines, blogs or other sources at this step.

  3. I submit a project proposal for your approval. This will outline all the services I will be offering you, so we ensure we are on the same page.

  4. I invoice you for payment.

  5. You complete my simple, site-survey which provides me with the measurements and details I need to customize your design (I will share these instructions with you once we reach this step. I promise, it’s easy!).

  6. I take the information you’ve provided and submit a mood-board for your approval. We will go over it together and talk about what you are liking and what needs changed. I offer up to three options for large components in the room like lighting and furniture so we can ensure you find the item that speaks to you.

  7. I finalize your custom eDesign! The turn-a-round time will depend on your timeline and the scope of the project - usually between 2-4 weeks. The more efficient the communication is between us, the faster the turnaround (I respond to messages and emails within 24 hours on weekdays).

  8. I then hand over the design to you, including renderings, shoppings lists, placement instructions and tips for making the design a reality.

  9. I provide “service after the sale” for up to 30 days after the design is handed over to you. Any revisions or questions must be requested during this time frame.

E-design Packages

The Gold Package

An entire room design for a space at or under 350 sf

This package includes:

  1. Q&A via phone and email throughout the process from start to finish

  2. Full design for one room (the room can be a blank slate or can work around existing pieces to create a cohesive design)

  3. A mood-board based on your vision (with up to two revisions)

  4. Floor plan

  5. Elevation plan

  6. Detailed shopping list

  7. Aerial view of space-plan

  8. Setup instruction

  9. Notes for your contractor (if required)

The Platinum Package

An entire room design with everything from the Gold package, plus additional footage up to 450 sf, additional visual aids and virtual styling assistance. This one could be considered the full service of E-design.

  1. Q&A via phone and email throughout the process from start to finish

  2. Full design for one-room or open-concept space (up to 450 sf)

  3. A mood-board based on your vision (with up to two revisions)

  4. Floor plan

  5. Elevation plan

  6. Detailed shopping list

  7. Aerial view of space-plan

  8. Setup instruction

  9. 3-D rendering of floor-plan (blue-print required)

  10. Notes for your contractor (if required)

  11. Virtual assistance with styling (if needed, up to 2 hours)
